OH EM GEE

I realize this post is a couple several weeks overdue, but Asher-man is 9 months old…and will be 10 months old in 9 days 5 days. Let me repeat that…Asherman is almost 10 months old! Oh em gee.  And I have to apologize…these pictures are from a month 2 months ago, so they aren’t technically his 9 month photos. Oh well, I’ll get it together eventually. Everyone has always told me how fun this age can be, and they were SO right. Life is pretty amazing with this little dude around. He really is the happiest little guy (PSA: All parents say this about their kid). His personality is infectious, and his smile lights up the room. I can’t believe how much he has learned in such a short amount of time and how different he looks! And how cute is this photo shoot? Rachel and Noah did it again.  I could have styled this a little better (welcome to the pattern party), but goodness, they look so cute. I for real need the leopard party cardi in my size, cc: Beau Hudson…please make me one!  Also, PSS…I realize I am wearing this shirt AGAIN.  I clearly did not organize my posts very well. But you can see just how versatile this shirt really is, and who cares if the repeat boutique is my favorite store.

FAVS

ANY AND ALL FOOD: He especially loves Octopus Romesco from Bottega, his Big Daddy’s (grandpa) cheese eggs and avocado, strawberries, BBQ pork, all the gluten (on the weekends he indulges a bit…otherwise he’s a paleo baby ha), avocado toast from Revelator, bananas, sweet potato fries, almond butter, potato soup from Chez Lulu. Tonight, he ate local, grassfed flank steak with farmer’s market asparagus and snow peas. He LOVED it! Oh, and he has 2 teeth with 2 more coming in. Adorbs.

Sooooo, am I still breastfeeding? A few weeks ago I got pneumonia, and my milk supply completely disappeared. I probably could have restarted it, but we made the decision not to with my travel and work schedule. I am happy that I made it 9 months, especially with my travel insanity. Pumping in airport bathrooms and in the back of my sales reps’ cars was pretty gross and daunting but worth it. I am SO glad I could be his food source for so long, and it truly was an amazing bonding experience between us. I still nurse him sometimes in the morning, but I don’t think he gets any milk. I do miss it at times, though. Mamas if you need help with breastfeeding or need ideas for traveling with breastmilk, etc, please please shoot me a message. We are in this together for sure.

KISSING: Say “gimme a kiss Asher,” and he will plant a big wet one on your lips! MELT.

SLEEPING: Knock on wood, but the kid can sleep! He sleeps 11-12 hours a night and naps about 2-3 hours per day. He is down to 1 real nap (12-2) at school and usually takes a power nap on the way home. UPDATE: You guys, I said knock on wood. This week Asher was sick and slept HORRIBLY. Give me all the coffee, please.

FLIRTING: Lord have mercy. The kid is ridiculous…smiling, laughing cooing, batting his eyes, touching your face, and kissing. Everywhere we go, he is flirting with someone!

HIS REFLECTION: Hide yo mirrors! I wonder where he gets it from.

PHOTO SHOOTS: Again, I’ll never know where he got these vain tendencies from.

PLAYTIME: Running around in his Joovy (I realize there are some controversial opinions on walkers, but we have LOVED this, and so has Mini), knocking over blocks, banging spoons, playing with his Zany Zoo, eating all the books, kissing his giant Boo dog, throwing anything and everything on the ground, pulling my hair, taking all the books off the shelf 3 times a day, and smiling and laughing at everything.

THE BEACH: We were so worried that he would not like the sand or the ocean, but he loved both. He kept diving in head first into the waves. Safety first!

HIS PARENTS: This is so obvious, but he is totally into us right now. And of course we love that! Hashtag blessed.

SATURDAYS: Every Saturday we take him to Pepper Place Farmer’s Market to pick out vegetables for the week. He eats what we eat (no baby food for this kid, yall), so it’s important to us for him to help shop for local, organic produce. After the Farmer’s Market, he usually spends a few hours with Gigi and Big Daddy, so mom and dad can work, work out, and grab breakfast together aka get a break from our Prince. After his nap, we head to Bottega for lunch and then usually do something outside.

SCHOOL: As hard as it is for me to leave him when I travel, I have confidence in the fact that he loves school. I am sure this can be attributed to the constant attention, kissing, and flirting he gets all day.

FASHION: Ha, just kidding. That’s me. But for real, his fav brands are Hux Baby, Nununu, Freshly Picked, Beau Hudson, and Susie’s Custom Denim. He’s really into his Adidas Superstars right now. So on trend. Honestly though, his style has totally rubbed off on me!

SUCKING IS THUMB: Can’t stop won’t stop. Can’t wait to try to break this habit. It is pretty cute though.

STROLLING IN HIS STROLLER: Our Stokke Explory [you can see it HERE] was ridiculously expensive, but it has been worth every.single.penny. He loves how high up it is, so he can see the world. It also pulls right up to the table at restaurants, so he doesn’t have to sit in the high chair. Are you guys interested in baby product reviews and favs? #randomquestionoftheday

THE NOSE FRIEDA: Bless it. You would think I was torturing him.

PULLING THINGS OVER HIS HEAD: Again, he acts like putting on a shirt or his jammies is the worst thing in the world. If he is going to be a fashion baby, he better get used to the outfit changes.

MISSING OUT: FOMO, the struggle is REAL.

WHEN MOM AND DAD WALK OUT OF THE ROOM: I mean, really. We are coming right back.

NOT SHARING OUR FOOD: I think we have created a monster. #foodiebaby

SKILLZZZZ

CRAWLING: He crawled for the first time on April 27th (Not like y’all care about this date, but this will help me remember it to put it in his baby book, probably when he’s 10…Is anyone else terrible with these types of things?). He only army crawled for the longest (future Navy Seal?), but now he does both. And is super fast. Time to baby proof!

PULLING UP: There could be a blade of grass sticking out of the ground, and the kid will try to pull up on it. What is it with babies and pulling up?

STANDING: I looked over at him the other day, and he was standing without any assistance. I am sure that was an anomaly, but we will go with it…so what if it only happened once. He did it. Again, hashtag blessed.

CRUISING: I think that’s the parenting word for moving from the ottoman to the couch back to the ottoman? Who knows, but he is ON. THE. MOVE.

LEARNING BODY PARTS: “Where’s my nose Asherman?” He then grabs it.

HUGGING AND KISSING: He’s a PRO. Seriously gives the best hugs ever.

Well, I guess it’s time to start planning his 1st birthday. YALL, WTH?!? I can’t believe time as flown by so quickly. The past 10 months have been a BLAST, and we really are so lucky to have such an amazing little dude we oh so affectionally call “Mini.”
