Happy Monday, loves! This weekend was ah-may-zing. Ryan’s birthday is Tuesday, but we celebrated this weekend. Friday night, SOMEHOW I pulled off a surprise dinner with some of his closest friends. He tried to spoil it, but it ended up working out. Of course, we headed to our favorite bar afterwards…and I sure paid for it Saturday! We spent the rest of the weekend with fam and had an absolute blast! It flew by way too quickly. but YAY for a super short week. We are so excited to spend Thanksgiving with our little buddy. LCL STYLE: 3 Ways to Style Velvet
I am SUPER excited to introduce you to two of my favorite girls: Christian Buck from Christian Blair Style and Laura Beverlin from Styled Adventures. Last week, while I was in Tampa for work, I was able to meet up with my girls to kick off our fun collaboration (LCL Style) that you will see more of in the future.
In this post, we’re sharing how to style velvet 3 ways, JUST in time for the holidays. Each of our outfits features many EASY trends to pull off: all the velvet, a bomber jacket, oxblood, high waisted flares, high-ankle booties, a leather moto, and a statement necklace. MY $89 COMBO SHIRTDRESS
YEP, you read that correctly…my combo shirtdress is only $89 and features the cutest little velvet bow. I absolutely love the layered look, which allows you to wear it so many different ways. This dress would be perfect for Christmas Eve dinner, date night, or even Thursday for Thanksgiving. It is comfy, cute, and very affordable. It fits true to size, and I am wearing a small for your reference. My Stuart Weitzman booties were a splurge, but I have LIVED in them. They are the only shoes I pack each week for my work trips, because they are so versatile (wear with jeans, skirts, dresses, you name it) and comfy. Splurge…YES. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY. I met Christian YEARS ago through a friend of a friend/coworker. When she sat down at dinner with her Chanel cross-body, I knew it was meant to be. Ironically, neither one of us had started our blogs yet, but fast forward 6 years and look how far we have come. Her style is absolutely AH-MAY-ZING, and she is one of the coolest, sweetest, most beautiful girls you will ever meet. She is also a personal stylist at Nordstrom! Laura and I have been “friends” on social media and through the blogging community for awhile now, but we finally met “IRL aka in real life” last month! She has been blogging for less than a year but has built an amazing brand and following. Not only is she gorgeous, but her style is so on point! And most importantly, she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Her blog is Styled Adventures, and she is @laurabeverlin on Insta! I absolutely love her velvet skinny scarf and SUPER AFFORDABLE velvet cross body. It is less than $40 and right on trend. And can we talk about her leopard pumps…SWOON.
SQUAD GOALS
I meeeeeean, #squadgoals. It is such a dream to be able to collaborate with these two. They have taught me so much about the blogging world and are a great support system. We had a blast shooting these pictures, drinking all the champagne, and pigging out at Ulele. I think we could have stayed there all night! I know I have had said this many times, but one of the best parts about blogging is the community. I have met some amazing women that I know I will be friends with forever. In a world where women can sometimes not be so nice, it is refreshing to be able to share our knowledge, successes, and failures in such a collaborative way.
