MODWALLS Life Lutzurious

Hi loves!  Although design and interior decorating are both passions of mine, I have not put a lot of focus into it lately.  We built our house a few years ago, and the hubs and I for the most part decorated it ourselves.  We had an interior designer help us with paint colors and such, and our favorite furniture designer, Pam at Cantoni in Atlanta, helped us with the furniture.  We put our blood, sweat, tears, and creativity into our house, down to the very last detail.  We absolutely loved the design process, but after 2 years, I needed a break!  Decorating the nursery really got me back into design mode and inspired me to want to incorporate this passion into the blog moving forward.   I hope you got the chance to see Asher’s ALMOST completed nursery.  We sure do love the space!  If you have not seen it yet, you can check out the post HERE.  Picture lot’s of black and white, whimsical details, and a very modern aesthetic!

My first project after (almost) completeing the nursery was finishing the half bath.  We have a really cool floating sink that looks AMAZING.  However, it probably isn’t the most practical sink in the house and tends to splash some water on the wall behind it.  So, we needed to add a back splash.  As you can see, the walls of the room are a metallic silver and the ceiling a dark greenish-black.  I wanted to keep the backsplash simple but modern (shocker).  When looking for inspo, I immediately hit up my go-to tile destination: Modwalls Tile.  Their stuff is AH-MAY-ZING.  They have every color, style, and shape of tile imaginable.  I was thinking I either wanted something black and white (still on a monochrome kick) or metallic silver.  How cool is the other option I considered?

REX RAY Black Glass Subway Tile

PS, I LOVED this, but it is very similar to the tile around our fireplace.

THEN, I ran across the COOLEST tile ever.  It is called the Rex Ray Ether tile and can be found on their site HERE.  Here is some info on the tile from the Modwalls website: “This designer gray tile is a part of the “Ether” collection, an American made floor and wall tile created via our Rex Ray Studio for Modwalls’ collaboration. Featuring otherworldly photographs and the collage style that Rex Ray is known for. These American made ceramic tiles are high fired and appropriate for floors and walls in wet (excluding shower floor) and dry areas. They possess a gloss finish. Anti-slip coating may be added post install if desired, or a finish rated for commercial flooring is available by customer order. This gray ceramic tile is ideal for any wall application including kitchen backsplash tile, bathroom tile, fireplace tile and pool tile. This tile is easy to install in wet areas as well as dry, and it is well-suited for interior tile and exterior tile applications.”  UM HOW COOL would this be as swimming pool tile…SWOON!  Modwalls has always been excellent to work with.  They ship quickly and are very responsive.  While this tile is somewhat on the pricey side, they have a very wide range of pricing options.  I only needed a small amount of tile and the design made it so worth the price.  If you guys are interested in any of their designs, they are offering Life Lutzurious readers. 10% off…yep, that’s right!  Simply enter code MOD10 at checkout.  Also, I would LOVE to know which tile you choose by tagging @lifelutzurious and using #MODLIFE on your Instagram pictures.

So, what is #TRENDING in terms of bathroom design?  GRAY tones, custom vanities, engaging lighting, and statement tile applications.  Although we designed this powder room 4 years ago,  it is right on trend.  HOUZZ features an excellent article on bathroom design trends…you can read it HERE.

In addition to the tile, here are the rest of the details:

WALL PAINT: Sherwin Williams 7066 Grey Matters (eggshell) with Silver #20 Benjamin Moore Glaze on top

TRIM PAINT: Sherwin Williams 7064 Passive

CEILING and TRIM PAINT: Sherwin Williams 6994 (GreenBlack) with #20 Benjamin Moore Glaze on top

**NOTE: Make sure you contact your paint professionals to help mix color.  I may not have linked the GLAZE paint correctly.)

LIGHT FIXTURE: PH Artichoke (less expensive replica HERE)

SINK: Floating Vanity by Stone Forest (Carrara marble)

FAUCET: Danze Sirius Two Handle Wall Mount

MIRROR: Z Gallerie Royce Mirror

Our next project to complete is the DINING ROOM.  Currently, we only have a table, chairs, and chandelier in the room.  The table is all white lacquer with white croc leather chairs and 2 ultra-modern black upholstered chairs at the head of the table.  I may stick with the monochrome theme, adding in a pop of red throughout.  Stay tuned!
