Ready or not, fall is just around the corner. And although it’s supposed to be brisk 106 today, I am ready to bust out all the denim, boots, and cardigans. In preparation for Fall, there are transitional pieces you can wear now or wear later. Remember my Wear Now, Wear Later Nordstrom posts? I featured summer dresses that can transition easily, as well as an adorable suede skirt and off the shoulder top combo. Like those looks, these high waisted, wide legged pants can take you from summer throughout fall. Here is my take on this major fall trend.

STYLE TIPS
For now, pair with a casual tee (love this $28 option) or a even a sleeveless bodysuit (only $45!). Once the temps drop, throw on a moto jacket (RESTOCKED! only $98) or a cropped sweater. I love the fashion forward, structured look, but the material makes this trend completely accessible. The best part? The belt is totally removable. For a dressier look, I will pair with my Gucci belt and heels.
Yes, these pants are somewhat trendy (and definitely a #priceperwear play), but there are a few things that make them accessible: 1) Classic cut and design: Wide-leg culottes have been around for YEARS. This is the modern take on that design. 2) Versatility: these can be taken straight from the office to happy hour. You will get a lot of wear out of them. 3) You can style with a simple tee, sweater, or even button up to mix classic pieces with a more modern style.
FIT TIPS
The pants run pretty much true to size, but they are slightly long. They are almost full length on me, and I am 5’7. I may get them hemmed a little for a more cropped look. With the pants being so high-waisted, I would definitely opt for your normal size. You want them to be fitted at the top. These pants are super flattering, I promise! Whether you are short or tall, you can pull these off with the right length and shoes.
