WHAT TO DO ON A GIRLS BEACH TRIP TO SANDESTIN

The feeling of the warm sun, the sound of the waves crashing, and the smell of fruity cocktails…take me back to the white sandy beaches of the Florida Panhandle aka my happy place. A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to take a girls weekend getaway to the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa for the 30A Songwriters Festival. And let me tell you…it did not disappoint. It was JUST what we needed to escape the end of the holiday hustle and the winter blah. In this post, I am sharing where to stay, what to eat (and drink), and what to do on a girl’s beach trip to Sandestin.

ACCOMODATIONS

The Hilton Sandestin Resort literally has it all. It’s actually the largest beachfront hotel in Northwest Florida, with 3 pools and 2 whirlpools. It has access to four championship golf courses, seven dining options (more on this later), AND a world-class spa (#treatyoself).

The rooms are spacious and beachy, with suite and bunk options for families traveling with kids or even for a girls beach trip. Speaking of kiddos, they have the COOLEST Kids Krewe, which features kids activities AND babysitting services until MIDNIGHT. Yes, please. Can we say date night?

WHERE TO EAT (AND DRINK)!

Who knows my favorite thing to do on vacay? EAT (and drink) of course. And the Hilton Sandestin Resort does not disappoint with their variety of restaurants. From Sandcastles breakfast buffet to Barefoot’s beachside grill, there are plenty of options for everyone in your group. My favorite restaurant, hands down, was Hadashi. Their sushi was too legit to quit, and the cocktail program had us saying CHEERS the entire weekend. We did not have time to visit Seagar’s Steakhouse, but it is a four-diamond restaurant that’s perfect for date night or a business dinner. And how in the world could I forget? The Coffee Shop is right there on property, serving you your favorite Starbucks brews, lattes and quick-serve breakfast snacks.

WHAT TO DO ON A GIRLS BEACH TRIP

I love lounging poolside, but the Hilton Sandestin has soooo much more to offer than just pretty views and palm trees. My FAVORITE part of the hotel was the beach bonfire. We ate smores, sipped cocktails, and listened to live music over a beautiful bonfire. It was the PERFECT way to kick off our girls beach trip. You can easily book this service directly with the hotel.

Ok ladies, who doesn’t love a massage or manicure while on vacay? The Serenity by the Sea Spa is the bomb.com. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, the service was IMPECCABLE. You walk in to the fresh smell of lavender and are greeted by their wonderful staff. I opted for a manicure, and I can say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. And YES, they do offer the coveted dip mani!

If you wanna get your fitness on, they have a FULL gym with Pelaton bikes AND fitness classes for all levels. You can also play tennis or swim, if you prefer outdoor fitness activities.

Lastly, the location of the Hilton Sandestin is super convenient. You are 20 minutes from 30A and just a few minutes from Grand Boulevard, which features even more FABULOUS restaurants and shops.

THE 30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL

I HIGHLY recommend traveling to the Panhandle during the 30A Songwriter’s Festival. We had an ABSOLUTE BLAST dancing to the tunes of Tanya Tucker, The Indigo Girls, and John Prine. If you love good music, this festival is a MUST. Imagine three days jam packed with local + national artists, concerts spread out all across the Panhandle, and of course, amazing food + drinks. We literally danced the day away until the rain started to fall! We headed over for fajitas and margs to finish off the best day!

And of course, what’s a girls beach trip without dinner at Vin’tij! What a FABULOUS spot for great wine, delicious food, and a cool atmosphere! I HIGHLY recommend this spot for date night or GNO, and don’t forget to take a picture in front of the wine wall!

DAY TRIP TO GRAYTON BEACH

Hashtag best day ever! On the second day of our trip, we all piled in a big van for a quick trip down Highway 98 over to Grayton Beach. We ate lunch at the cutest spot, Black Bear Bread Co, where we noshed on a delicious lunch and fabulous wine.

After a quick photo sesh, we got our artsy on, creating the most beautiful canvases out of glass shards at The Shard Shop. How cute did mine turn out? We searched high and low for the perfect pieces of glass to craft our masterpieces. Pretty #lutzurious, am I right?! I HIGHLY recommend this for your girls beach trip!
