What I Packed for a Tropical Beach Vacation

Hello ladies!! I am feeling all of the summer vibes lately as we just recently got back from our vacation to Anguilla! If you’ve never heard of Anguilla, it is a British Overseas Territory in the Eastern Caribbean, comprising of a small main island and several offshore islets. It’s suuuuper tropical and has long stretches of white sandy beaches. Basically, everything you’d want on a vacation in the Caribbean!

I know many of us are taking vacations this summer to different beachy spots, so I put together everything I packed for our tropical beach vacation in Aguilla. Regardless if you’re going to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, or somewhere in Europe (the list goes on and on), these pieces are perfect for time spent by the sea. I went for more of an elevated beachy style this time which was so fun since it allowed me to dress up a bit… I mean who doesn’t love to dress up?! Even if you’re not headed on vacation, these pieces are just fun to have in your summer wardrobe, too.

I was eyeing some sparkly pieces for this trip like this Green Metallic Kaftan and Colorblock Bikini which were so fun to wear in the sunshine for a day by the pool. I love the kaftan because you can easily wear it over swimwear or dress it up for happy hour or dinner! I also packed lots of tropical-feeling accessories like this Straw Bucket Hat, Rattan Sandals, and Pearl Necklace. I always like to bring along accessories that give my outfits more of a vacation-like feel, especially because it’s so easy to wear them with multiple different looks.

Top Packing Tip: Bring along summery accessories to dress up simple pieces and give them more of a “vacation feel”. You only need a few!

Knitwear was another thing I brought a lot of, especially when it came to coverups for the pool and beach. I love a knit coverup because they are chic but still allow you to see the cute swimwear underneath. This Sleeveless Midi Dress has been one of my go-to coverups for summertime, it’s so comfortable and you can easily add a slip underneath to wear out and about! I also brought along a lot of basic tops like this Tie Crop Top that looked great with everything from denim shorts to a dressy maxi skirt.

Top Packing Tip: Coverups can be dresses, too! Pack coverups that can transition from the pool to dinner by adding the correct undergarments to allow you to get the most wear out of them (and save room in your suitcase 😉 )

When I go on vacation, one of the biggest distinctions I find in the clothing I wear is my desire to wear fun prints! Typically, I wear solid colors and when I do wear prints, they are usually a little more subtle and neutral. Not during vacation! Why do I want to wear the boldest and brightest prints out there?! This Printed Maxi Dress has been another one of my vacation favorites– I wore it in Anguilla and a few months ago when we went to Costa Rica, too. It is a bit of a splurge but is SO chic and I have gotten so much more wear out of it than I expected. I also love this Tie-Dye Mini Dress for a breezy, shorter option that I especially loved when it was extra hot outside.

Top Packing Tip: Don’t be afraid to wear new styles when you go on vacation! I think vacation is the time to be bold and wear exciting colors, prints, styles, and fabrics. There is no better time. Go a little out of your comfort zone and have fun!
