NYC HOTELS + INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOTS
SHOP THE POST
Happy Sunday, y’all! Well, this post was actually supposed to go up the day I left for NYFW, but it didn’t happen. Nor did the daily vlogs and schedule posts. SORRY! I forgot how crazy busy the days can get. Up by 6:30, gone all day, then in bed (hopefully) by 1 or 2 am. It was SUCH a fun week, and there is so much content I will be pushing out. BUT for now, I want to show you a few of my favorite HIP NYC hotels, some super instagrammable spots around the city, and THE BEST photo opps.
NYC HOTELS + INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOTS
NYC HOTELS
NOMO | Soho
I absolutely LOVE this hotel. The decor, ambiance, and location are spot on! There’s a super instagrammable restaurant too! Guaranteed to be in the middle of all the action, the rooms and inviting lobby will make you feel oh so chic.
11 Howard | Soho
This is one of my FAV hotels. I feel like it matches my Instagram perfectly. Modern, sustainable, and BEYOND CHIC, you will be hobnobbing with all the cool kids.
Hotel Hayden | Chelsea
This is where we stayed this year for NYFW, so I will for sure give you a full review later this month. But at first glance it is CHIC, adorable, and modern. Located right in the heart of Chelsea, you will be in one of the hippest locations in town. And the best part? They are offering the #LUTZLIST a 15% discount, based on availability, using code FWEEK.
Eventi | Chelsea
This is where I stayed last year for NYFW, and I LOVED IT. It was super hip and buzzy, but the room was SO SPACIOUS. In NYC, this can be super rare. You could feel the energy as soon as you stepped foot in the lobby, and the staff was AH-MAZING.
The New York EDITION | Midtown
How gorg is this room?? And the best part is that it’s a Marriott property, so you can use points!
Langham Place | Fifth Avenue
I have not stayed here yet, but I am DYING TO. It is so chic and so modern, and I have heard the service is impeccable. It is also extremely spacious with a walk in closet. Hello, NYFW 2018!
NYC INSTAGRAMMABLE CAFES
NOMO | Soho
Make sure you get a picture under the ivy arch way. I mean GORG.com. I swore I took one under here last year, but I must have forgotten.
Jack’s Wife Freda | Soho
I’ll just let the picture do the talking here. This see-and-be-seen spot is smack dab in the middle of Soho. The food is delish and of course the level of instagrammability is off the charts.
While We Were Young | Soho
I haven’t tried this spot yet, but I will make sure to check it out next trip.
NYC PHOTO OPPS
Top of the Rock
Make a reservation well before sunset and take in the AMAZING views. TIP: The best view is facing south towards the Empire State building. There are 3 different levels and obviously the top level offers the best view. I ended up leaving early to dodge Irma, but here is a shot from the trusty interwebs.
Brooklyn Bridge
There are a couple of different photo opps here. The arches and wires create such a stunning backdrop but you can also get a shot of the New York skyline from the Brooklyn side (from Manhattan, cross the Brooklyn Bridge, then head south along the riverside). Make sure you shoot during the golden hour for the best shot!
Central Park
Again, SO MANY fab spots here. A few of my favs are any of the walkways during the blue hour, The Pond (especially during fall when the leaves are changing), Bow Bridge, the Bethesda Fountain, and the John Lennon “Imagine” tile mosaic (bloggers, take note!).
9/11 Memorial and Freedom Tower
Last year I was here on 9-11. Y’all, there are simply no words. Obviously, it’s beautiful, but the somber feel will absolutely move you.
The Flatiron Building
This is one of my FAV street-style scenes. This building is so unique and the streets around it are quintessential NYC. Cabs zooming by and people wandering the streets. prepare to be in awe!
All the glitz and glam in one spot…my kinda place! The architecture is insane here. Go towards the end of the day to avoid the crowds.
Street Scenes and Doors GALORE
Perhaps my FAV part of shooting in New York. There are SO many cozy corners and doorways to take interesting pictures. While I did shoot at some of the main locations shown above, it is super easy to just hop into any ole doorway to get a great shot. I also love the cobblestones in Soho and all the beautiful stairwells.
