FALL FLORALS + 5 STYLING TIPS FOR A CHIC PREGNANCY

Ruby floral organza dress (25% off this weekend) // white pointy toe booties (less than $200) // Gucci embroidered shoulder bag // Opening Ceremony reversible bomber (60% off) // silver large circle earrings // the best nude lipstick

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope everyone had a GREAT week. As you guys know, my style tends to be a little on the edgier side, but I am LOVING florals right now. I rocked this ADORABLE floral frock (and it’s 25% off this weekend) to NYFW and received SO MANY compliments. It was by far my most asked-about outfit. Throw on a pair of your favorite booties plus a cute jacket, and you have created an easy, stylish fall look. PS, this dress is not maternity, but keep reading to see how I made it work for pregnancy.

ROCK THOSE FALL FLORALS

Ladies, the key to making this trend work is to opt for darker floral prints (OBSESSED with this Rebecca Taylor one shoulder floral dress that’s MAJ on sale). Think deep blues, magenta, black, and earthy tones. Add a chunky bootie and cardigan to complete your fall look. Want to add a little edge to the look? Throw on your favorite leather moto or bomber jacket. Remember that ah-maze reversible bomber jacket (current 60% off!!)I got from the Nordstrom Sale? This was the PERFECT addition my super-girly floral dress (25% off this weekend!!!). I then added my favorite white boots, and VOILA, my look was complete. Here are some of my FAV floral dresses (most under $200 and/or on sale) that are perfect for fall.

HOW TO HAVE A CHIC PREGNANCY

1. Be yourself.

Just because you’re preggo, it doesn’t mean you have to sell out to the maternity gods. Stick to what you love, and it will be a lot easier to dress.

2. Mix maternity with non-maternity.

So, the first time around, I REFUSED to buy maternity clothes. DUMB. There are a lot of chic options out there, but I do love mixing maternity with non-maternity. For example, Paige has amazing maternity denim. I typically opt for the jeans that have the elastic on the sides, instead of the ones that go completely over the bump. To me, those are SO uncomfortable. Add a cute oversized sweater, fun bomber jacket, or a trench vest to up your chic factor.

3. Opt for comfy-chic.

Seriously y’all. Think body con dresses, oversized sweaters, stretchy jeans, stylish, yet comfy booties and sneaks, long sleeved maxi dresses,

4. Size up, get it tailored.

The dress featured in this post is the PERFECT example. I went up one size, then had the dress tailored. Annoying yes. BUT, this is a great way to get more wear our of your pregnancy clothes. STYLING TIP: I absolutely LOVE high waisted pants and would pretty much die without them. SO, I had my tailor add a few inches to my favorite pair. She will then let them out after I have the baby. Obviously, this probably won’t work towards the end of my pregnancy, but this is a great idea to get through the 1st and 2nd trimesters more stylishly.

5. Focus on chic accessories.

Cute jackets, fun handbags, statement shoes, fabulous jewelry…any of these items can really take your pregnancy style up a notch. Also, try throwing on a hat or belting your favorite dress OVER your bump.
