Classic Workwear Style For Every Type of Office

You ladies know how much I love to share workwear so I am so excited for today’s blog post! I know many of us have kids heading back to school, and while I wasn’t on summer break, as the new school year approaches it also feels like a new work season, too. Anyone else?? I grab the back-to-school clothes and items for the boys but I also tend to snag myself some new work things this time of year, so if you’re in the same boat, I put together classic workwear style for every type of office.

Whether you work somewhere casual or need to dress a little more business, there’s something in here for everyone! I even like these pieces for every day, not just the office, so if you’re a WFH gal or a SAHM, you’ll still love these chic finds.

Stay tuned for more workwear style coming soon and make sure to head over to my LTK and my IG where I share styled workwear looks and finds first!

When I’m dressing and shopping business casual, my mantra is work (or dress…) smarter, not harder. Basically, what I mean is, you don’t need to buy a TON of business casual clothing to have a robust selection of items for work in your closet. The key is to know how to work with what you have.

I say this so frequently but it still holds true, you have to buy pieces you’re able to mix and match! Now, I’m not saying to not buy that fun printed dress, but if you’re investing in building up your workwear wardrobe, stick to one (not 4). I love this striped maxi dress as it would be SO easy to style for date night or an evening out but also is appropriate for the office.

I tend to stick to solid colors, with the occasional pattern here and there (like on this leopard blouse), and flattering, tailored styles. A comfortable yet chic wrap dress like this is always a great piece to invest in, or a classic blazer is ALWAYS a workwear staple. Don’t forget a pair of tailored trousers that you’ll wear at least once a week, and easily pair them with a sleeveless blouse like this one.

Casual workwear ladies, this one’s for you. I should note that while I LOVE these pieces as casual workwear, they can 100% be worn day to day. Think more polished, classic, tailored pieces. Love.

When I think casual workwear, I think of easy dresses like this knit dress or ruffle-hem dress, well-fitting denim paired with a cute top like this linen vest, and more. Essentially, easy outfits that still look put together.

Depending on how casual your office is, I even like pairing a t-shirt like this $15 one with denim or trousers, but dressing it up a bit with a headband, jewelry, and other accessories. Super comfortable, but a step up from it feeling like a casual weekend jeans and tee.

The best part about casual workwear is you really have a lot of options, it’s all about how you style your outfit to take it to something work appropriate. Think: casual but still professional.

What are some of your go-to’s for the office? And what’s your dress code like? Let me know in the comments!
