3 Simple Spring Cleaning Tips

With the spring season comes the time for spring cleaning and I don’t know about you, but this typically is when I decide to give things a major clean out! I’m sure you thought that I’d be sharing 3 actual cleaning tips in this post, and while I love a good organization and cleaning situation, the “cleaning” we’re chatting today is more a clean out for your life.

It’s easy to get caught in the day-to-day but I’m encouraging you ladies to stop and take stock this season. There are many ways to do this, and everyone is different, but I thought I would put together 3 simple things you can clean out (physically and mentally) that will start your spring season off on the right foot! Keep reading for what I’m tackling this spring and I’d love to hear your spring projects in the comments!

Closet Clean Out

I’m a fashion girl always so you know I had to include a closet clean out here! Spring is the perfect time to declutter your closet and get rid of anything you’re not wearing, what’s not fitting, and things that just need to go. Plus, it will make room for a few cute new things this season 😉 Start by pulling out all your clothes and carefully assess each item. Ask yourself: Does it still fit? Have I worn it in the past year? Does it bring me joy? If the answer is no, it’s time to say buh-bye! Donate gently used items to charity or host a clothing swap with friends!

Once you’ve cleared out the clutter, organize your closet by category or color to make getting dressed a breeze. Invest in some stylish storage pieces like woven baskets or clear shoe boxes to keep everything neat and organized. Once you take stock of what you already have, you can shop for the season efficiently and avoid buying a million and one things you don’t need.

Digital Clean Out

In today’s world, we spend a LOT of time online. Although being mindful of what digital content you’re consuming is talked about, it’s still easy to overlook. Take some time this spring to give your digital life a thorough cleanse. Start by unfollowing accounts on social media that no longer inspire you or uplift you, and if they make you feel plain bad, they need to go! Curate your feed to include content that aligns with your interests and values, whether it’s fashion, travel, wellness, or all of the above.

Next, declutter your inbox by unsubscribing from newsletters and promotional emails that you’re not interested in or that overwhelm your inbox. Set aside some time each week to respond to important emails and delete the rest to keep your inbox organized and clutter-free!

Mindset Clean Out

Take some YOU time and reflect on anything that doesn’t make you feel good. Is there someone in your life that causes you stress or puts you down? Is that person yourself through negative self-talk? Is there an activity or obligation that you do on the regular that doesn’t bring you joy anymore? Whatever it is, take stock of how you feel. Reflect on anything that might bring you down and bid farewell.

This can be something as simple as making how you speak to yourself a priority– when you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror give yourself a compliment instead of bringing yourself down. When we make an effort to change our mindsets to be more positive, the impact is huge!

Remember, spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up your physical space—it’s also about decluttering the inside, too. Try practicing mindfulness through activities like meditation, journaling, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll outdoors. By decluttering your life and embracing mindfulness, I promise you’ll feel lighter and more refreshed this spring!
